SAFETY

Safety is a value

Safety is a value for 5 Star. Not only for our employees, and our customers but also the general public. We believe in the prevention of injuries and occupational incidents, and are 100 percent committed to providing a safe working environment for all.

No task will ever be performed that cannot be completed safely and in compliance with all applicable safety rules and procedures. We demand safety first, followed by quality work. With these building blocks in place, good production follows.

Our safety culture is managed by a team of professionals throughout all regions. We maintain a ratio of 10-12 crews per safety specialist.

INTEGRITY IS OUR GOAL; QUALITY IS OUR PRODUCT

All 5 Star employees are obligated to know and abide by the safety requirements and standards for their area or job and regularly participate in on-going training exercises and safety meetings. Compliance with safety policies is a condition of employment and must be taken very seriously. Safety and health are not at odds with productivity and quality. In fact, they go hand in hand, our workers are instructed to conscientiously follow safety rules at all times, not take shortcuts, and not endanger their own life and health or that of their coworkers.

Safety Recognition

Each quarter we recognize one crew for outstanding Safety Performance. These dedicated professionals represent the safety culture of our company and lead by example.

Densil Wheeler and his crew were chosen for going above and beyond for safety on job sites, working 384 days without incident. Whether he’s working on the road or off the road, his crews always have a road vest on.
“On multiple occasions I’ve watched Densil not allow someone on his jobsite until he’s able to go over the JSA with them,” said Safety Manager Bryan Baldwin. “Densil and his crew are always wearing proper PPE. These individuals never take shortcuts and always keep their equipment cleaned off. His job-briefings are detailed and they follow the work plan very well,” Baldwin added. Congrats to Wheeler and this outstanding 5 Star crew.
